Apple cobbler 🍎✨ Apple filling: •800g apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced •70g brown sugar •15g lemon juice •8g cornstarch •3g ground cinnamon •A pinch of salt •5g vanilla extract (optional) Biscuit Topping: •200g flour •90g sugar •7g baking powder •2g salt •Lemon zest •80g cold unsalted butter (cold) •170g heavy cream Instructions 1.Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round baking dish 2.Peel and core the apples, then slice them about 5 mm thick. 3.Place the apples in a bowl. Add the brown sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla. Toss everything together until the apples are evenly coated. 4.Transfer the apple mixture, including all the juices, into your round baking pan and spread evenly. 5.Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt .Rub in cold butter until crumbly. Pour in heavy cream and mix just until combined. It should be thick and scoopable, not smooth. 6.Drop spoonfuls of the cobbler topping evenly over the apples. It’s okay to leave a few small gaps because the topping will spread as it bakes. 6.Brush top lightly with cream or egg (optional). Sprinkle brown sugar on top for crunch. 7.Bake at 180°C for 40–50 minutes until golden on top and bubbling underneath. 8.Let the cobbler rest for 10 minutes before serving so the filling can thicken.
