Now that I’ve read Verity for the second time, am I team manuscript or team letter? Hmmn. VERITY BY COLLEEN HOOVER: Lowen is a struggling writer who is hired by Jeremy Crawford, husband of Verity Crawford, a bestselling author. She is hired to complete Verity’s best selling series since Verity is injured and unable to finish it. When Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, she discovers a manuscript, Verity’s autobiography, while going through her notes for the novel. Lowen reads through bone-chilling details of Verity and Jeremy’s lives including Verity’s account of tragic events that happened in their family. This all happens while Lowen and Jeremy are starting to fall in love with each other. This is my second time reading this book. Although I’ll state that it almost felt like I went in blind this time cause it’s been so long since I first read it. I also love how this time around, with my adult brain (lol), I was able to fully understand a lot of details in the book. I’m not sure I can say too much without even spoilers but I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. It’s honestly a very twisted story, even more twisted than I remember. Verity was such a complex character and I must commend Colleen Hoover’s way of writing her. Infact, the other two main characters (Lowen and Jeremy) were really complex too. One thing I can say for certain is that everyone in this book is a different kind of crazy. I loved and hated being in Verity’s head. For the most part I couldn’t stand Lowen and as for Jeremy? He’s the villain to me, I don’t care. I love how this story just sucks you into the mind of these people and their world and then leaves you utterly confused by the end. I loved the pacing of this book, not slow and not too fast, just perfect. For me, CoHo’s writing will always make sense. I love her writing style, I love the themes she writes and I love how her books end (even though this one had me staring at the wall). Now am I Team Manuscript or Team Letter: When I first read this book I was Team Manuscript. This second time, especially after reading the bonus chapter, I’m leaning more towards Team Letter. Although there’s a part of me that feels like the manuscript was just too detailed. I don’t know, I honestly don’t know. It’s one thing I love about this book, we’ll just never know. I think this is a book everyone should read, especially if you’re into thrillers/mystery with a touch of romance. I can’t wait to watch the movie adaptation! 5/5 🌟 #booktok #nigerianbooktok #nigerianbooktoker #verity #veritymovie
