During my pregnancy, my food cravings changed with each trimester. I enjoyed turmeric basmati rice, which I preferred hot, and thankfully I did not experience heartburn. I surprisingly liked cold semolina and kale stew with turkey, and plantain was a regular side to most of my meals. In my first trimester, cereal helped when I had no appetite, and Domino’s pizza became my go-to meal, especially tandoori hot with spicy chicken and Fanta. During my second trimester, I craved spicy food and often snacked on salad with fish fingers, toast with plantain, and palm-oil beans, although the palm oil affected my voice. In my third trimester, roasted sweet potatoes with fruity coleslaw and fish became a favourite. Kale and spinach stew with assorted beef and pomo helped when I was constipated. Coconut water kept me hydrated throughout, and crunchy plantain chips were always in my bag. Through every craving and change, I’m grateful for the journey, the lessons, and the grace that carried me through. #PregnancyCravings #MomToBe #PregnancyJourney #pregnancycraving
