Sharing some simple parenting rules I find helpful: 1. When both parents are around, try to be fully present with the kid. Like, if mom is cooking, dad can hang out with them. kids don’t need two distracted parents, just one who’s really there. 2. Don’t criticize each other in front of the child. Comments like "Your mom overreacts" or "Your dad doesn’t get it" just make kids insecure. Discuss disagreements later. 3. Make mealtime distraction-free. Chat about funny moments, what upset them, or just connect. It’s all about quality time. 4. When one parent sets a rule, the other shouldn’t interfere. If mom says "No chocolate before dinner," dad shouldn’t secretly give it. Kids learn to manipulate when parents disagree. 5. Keep weekends for special things — doesn’t need to be expensive. Think park walks, ice cream, movie nights, or cooking together. Just some fun, quality moments. #family #parents #parenting #parentsoftiktok #children
