okay, swimming is already hard enough without having to deal with the people in your lane 😭😂 every lane has that ONE swimmer who makes a normal practice feel like a survival challenge, and the worst part is they genuinely don’t realize they’re the problem. let’s talk about it 👇 1️⃣ the wall parker. you’ve just finished your lap, you’re coming in for your turn, and somehow someone’s having a full podcast episode right in the middle of the wall. move two feet to the side, PLEASE 😭 tip: leave the center of the wall clear so everyone can turn safely. 2️⃣ the warm-up sprinter. coach says easy 200, and suddenly this guy is racing like there’s an Olympic medal on the line. passing everyone, making waves, acting like the warm-up is the final. BRO, WE JUST GOT HERE 💀 tip: follow the set’s intended pace and save the sprint for when it’s actually time. 3️⃣ the slow leader. insists on going first, sets the pace at approximately walking speed, and somehow has an entire traffic jam behind him. someone has been waiting to pass for three lengths 😭 tip: agree on lane order and let faster swimmers pass safely when there’s room. 4️⃣ the lane-line ghost. first to arrive at practice, first into the water, but when it’s time to help bring in the lane ropes? suddenly they’ve disappeared off the face of the earth 👻 tip: help with setup and cleanup; the pool doesn’t organize itself. 5️⃣ the sprawler. finishes a race, gets out, and lies directly behind the starting blocks like they’ve been dropped there by a helicopter. meanwhile, the next heat is trying to get ready without stepping on anyone 😂 tip: rest somewhere clear of the blocks and walking paths. 6️⃣ negative Nancy. the set hasn’t even started and they’re already complaining. too many reps, too little rest, too cold, too hot — somehow every single practice is the worst practice ever 😭 tip: it’s fine to have a rough day, but try to bring some energy to the lane instead of draining everybody else’s. 7️⃣ the swimmer who can’t read the room. someone’s clearly wearing goggles, facing the water, and getting ready to push off… and this person still starts a ten-minute conversation. the other swimmer has practically launched themselves away just to escape 💀 tip: respect the signs that someone is focused or in the middle of a set. let’s be honest, we’ve all encountered at least one of these swimmers… and some of us might have been one without realizing it 👀 now comment which type annoys you the MOST, and tag the teammate who needs to see this 😂🌊 Save this and send it to your team group chat before your next practice 📲 #swimtok #swimming #swimmerlife #sportsscience #swimmerproblems
