ok listen closely, because the secret to swimming faster isn’t spinning your arms faster, and it comes down to one simple formula 🏊♂️⚡ most swimmers think more strokes means more speed. but your speed has two parts, and you need both 👇 1️⃣ Speed equals stroke rate times distance per stroke. Stroke rate is how many strokes you take, and distance per stroke is how far you travel on each one 📏 2️⃣ Watch the stroke counter. Every stroke you take adds to the count, but the count alone doesn’t tell you how fast you’re going 🔢 3️⃣ When you spin your arms faster, each stroke often gets shorter. You take more strokes but travel less on each one 🌀 4️⃣ That’s the high stroke rate trap: lots of splash, lots of effort, and an energy cost that climbs fast 🔴 5️⃣ A controlled, efficient stroke does the opposite. Each stroke carries you further, so you use less energy for the same distance 🟢 6️⃣ The goal is balance: a stroke rate you can hold, with a long, strong pull on every stroke. That’s where maximum propulsion comes from 🚀 try it on your next 100: count your strokes per length, then try to hold the same speed with one stroke fewer 🎯 be honest: do you swim fast and short, or long and smooth? tell me in the comments 👇 tag a swimmer who spins their arms like a windmill 🏷️ and save this so you remember it at your next session 📌 #swimming #swimtok #swimtechnique #freestyle #stroke
