If your stretches feel intense but you’re not actually getting more flexible, your form might be the reason. Here are a few stretching form tips that make a HUGE difference: 1️⃣ Stop forcing the end range. More pain ≠ more progress. Go to the point where you feel a strong stretch, but can still breathe and stay relaxed. If your whole body is fighting the position, you’re probably pushing too far. 2️⃣ Watch your alignment. Your body is VERY good at finding shortcuts. Hips twisting, back rounding, knees bending, shoulders hiking up… all of these can make it look like you’re deeper in a stretch without actually targeting what you think you are. 3️⃣ Move from the right place. Trying to stretch your hamstrings? Think about hinging from your hips instead of collapsing your chest toward your leg. Tiny change, completely different stretch. 4️⃣ BREATHE. Holding your breath usually = more tension. Slow exhales can help you relax into the position instead of fighting against it. 5️⃣ Don’t chase someone else’s range of motion. Two people can do the exact same stretch and look completely different because of anatomy, mobility, training history, and proportions. Your goal is better movement for YOUR body—not copying the person next to you. 6️⃣ Control matters more than depth. If you can drop into a super-deep position but have zero control there… that’s not necessarily useful flexibility. Build strength in your new range too. And one of the biggest mistakes? 👇 Doing a stretch for 10 seconds, bouncing out of it, and wondering why nothing changes 😭 Flexibility is a skill. Like any skill, it responds to consistency, good technique, and progressive training—not randomly destroying yourself in a stretch once a week. SAVE this for your next stretch session 📌 Send it to the friend who always says “I’m just not flexible” 👀 And comment which stretch you want form tips for next 👇 #stretching #flexibility #mobility #stretchingtips #flexibilitytraining
