According to all aerodynamic laws, the bumblebee cannot fly.
Actor Peter Dinklage recently shared a powerful story about a poster his mother hung in his childhood bedroom.
It featured a picture of a bumblebee with a simple caption:
"According to all aerodynamic laws, the bumblebee cannot fly because its body weight is not in the right proportion to its wingspan. But ignoring these laws, the bee flies anyway."
For entrepreneurs, this is the ultimate metaphor for building a business. If you look at the statistics, the failure rates, and the "rules" of your industry, the logic will tell you that you shouldn't succeed. The odds are too heavy, and your resources are too small.
But success doesn't care about the odds. The greatest founders don't ask for permission from the "laws" of what is supposed to be possible. They just fly anyway.
